Pattern detected
Breakthroughs in June and July both followed a period of writing about avoidance.
02 — Compline Remembers
Months later, your thoughts still matter.
Every entry is indexed forever. Compline holds the thread of your thinking across years — connecting what you wrote in February to what you're wrestling with now.
03 — Compline Notices
See what you've been missing.
Not charts. Not dashboards. Intelligent observations that feel like a friend who's read every word you've ever written.
🧵
Thread across 6 months
The word "permission" appeared in 14 entries. You've been waiting for someone to tell you it's okay.
📈
Productivity pattern
Your output increases 40% in weeks when you journal about gratitude rather than goals.
🔁
Recurring cycle
Every 3–4 weeks, you experience a low followed by your clearest thinking. This cycle has repeated 7 times.
💡
Unnamed pattern
Three major decisions you've delayed share a common root: a fear of being seen as ambitious.
04 — Understand Yourself
The patterns you couldn't see alone.
Compline builds a living portrait of who you are and who you're becoming — across dimensions of growth, emotional patterns, and long-term life themes.

Monthly observation
Your sense of Purpose has grown 18 points this quarter. The shift coincides with your entries about redefining what success means to you.
An AI journal is a private diary that reads what you write and reflects it back to you. You journal normally — no forms, no scoring — and the AI does the part a human memory cannot: it holds every entry at once, so it can tell you that a theme you raised today also appeared in fourteen entries last spring. Compline is an AI journal in that sense: you write, and it remembers.
Is Compline private?
Yes. Every entry is stored against your account and isolated at the database level by row-level security, so no other account can read it even in principle. Traffic is encrypted in transit and entries are encrypted at rest. Compline does not sell data, does not run ad trackers, and does not use your entries to train public AI models.
How does AI journaling work?
You write an entry as you always would. Compline indexes it alongside everything else you have written, then looks for structure across the whole set: repeated words, recurring situations, moods that cluster around particular weeks or people. When it finds something that holds up across multiple entries, it surfaces it as an insight with links back to the entries it came from, so you can check the reasoning rather than take it on faith.
Can AI help with self-reflection?
It helps with the specific part of reflection people are worst at: noticing patterns in their own behaviour over long spans of time. You are excellent at knowing how today felt and poor at knowing how the last nine months trended. AI closes that gap. It does not replace the reflecting — deciding what a pattern means about your life is still yours to do.
Is journaling good for mental wellness?
Expressive writing is one of the better-studied self-help practices, and reviews consistently associate regular reflective writing with reduced rumination and improved mood regulation. Compline is a journaling and self-reflection tool, not a medical device, and it is not a substitute for therapy or crisis care.
How does mood tracking work?
You tag an entry with how you felt, in one tap. Because the mood is attached to the writing rather than logged on its own, Compline can pair the number with the reason: it will show you not just that Thursdays trend low but what you tend to be writing about when they do.
Do I need to write every day?
No. Compline works from whatever you give it, and a habit that survives is better than one that is perfect. Streaks are there if they motivate you and easy to ignore if they do not. The insight quality does improve with volume — most people see the first genuinely surprising pattern somewhere around thirty entries.
Can I export or delete my journal?
Deleting is available on every plan, at any time and without contacting anyone — it removes your entries and attachments rather than soft-hiding them. One-click export to Markdown and PDF is included on Bloom and above. An AI journal you cannot leave is a trap, not a product.
